In the verge of the decision of the European Union foreign ministers to open or not negotiations with Albania and Northern Macedonia, IDRA Research & Consulting has conducted a survey to measure the expectations of Albanians for the full integration of our country in the EU.
About half of Albanians citizens think it will take Albania about 10 years or more to join European Union. Meanwhile, about 40% of them believe that Albania will be part of the European Union by the next 5 years.
The rest of them, the most pessimistic, consisting of 11% of respondents think that Albania will never succeed in becoming a member of the European Union.
Regardless of the fact that most Albanians see our country’s accession to the European Union as very distant, it is worth mentioning that we remain the most pro-European country among candidate countries (Albania, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia, Turkey).
This survey was conducted with a national representative sample of 1000 respondents using face to face survey. The margin of error for this survey is + – 2.2% with a confidence interval of 95%.
